Lessons I learn from the Movie Apocalypto

Recently I watched the movie APOCALYPTO.

There were actually no subtitles to this movie and the movie was done in some tribal language. But the movie is directed very well in such a way that language is not really a problem, just by the events you can really understand the whole movie. I really loved it and recommend others to watch. It’s a masterpiece by the director Mel Gibson – who previously directed the Passion of Christ –which too again was excellently done in Aramaya Language with English subtitles. I think Mel Gibson likes to make movies in non-English languages.

Anyway hats-off to Mel Gibson.

Now let’s come to the lessons I learn from this movie.

The central characters of this movie are a tribal husband, pregnant wife and their son. This husband and many of his other tribal friends were arrested and taken to a place where men/women were sold and slaughtered. Before this arrest – the husband managed to safely locate his wife and son in some sort of a well. After the arrest – the husband was always thinking of his wife and son. His absolute priority in life was to reach back to his family. Family was his destiny. And he will do anything to reunite to his family.

Because of his good character – he was able to escape from human sacrifice, black tiger, waterfall, marshy land and many others. Each time after his run/escape from this slaughter place he met with hurdles like the black tiger, steep waterfall, marshy land – these situations came as obstacles but it turned to be his lucky ones. All these hurdles saved him from the slaughter enemy soldiers who were chasing to kill him.

In fact if you observe the movie carefully – nature helped him and his family to get united. And to add to this happiness, the pregnant wife gave birth to a beautiful child. And this was shown wonderfully by means of a water birth. I saw a water birth for the first time in this movie.

In short, you will reach your destiny - whatever may be the hurdles – if your intentions are not bad, all hurdles / stumbling block will turn good and act as a blessing to your path to success and your destiny.

Once again I would like to bring to your kind attention (if you have read my previous blogs) – if you do good deeds, the surroundings will automatically turn good for you. At various occasions you may think that things are happening and looks like they are hurdles to ones success/destiny – it’s actually not – they are real blessings to you. And always remember TRUST.

Good things happen to good people & What you reap is what you sow. If you sow hatred/ jealous / anger – without doubt it is what you are going to get back.

Further, I like to borrow a sentence from Robin Sharma’s Books > Be like the sun – the sun gives away all it has to the plants and the trees. But in return, the plants and the trees always grow towards the sun.

Keep smiling and lets all make the world a better place and remember family first – if you lose your family, you will lose everything.

Conversation between GOD and ME

God : Hello. Did you call me?

Me: Called you? No.. Who is this ?

God : This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.

Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

God : What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Me: Don't know. But I cant find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God : Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

God : Well I wanted to resolve your! Fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

God : Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?

God : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday.You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy.

Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

God : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.

God : Pain is inevitable able, but suffering is optional.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?

God : Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher . She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems?

God : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you! Are free from problems.

Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading.

God : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading.Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

God : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

God : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?

God : when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.

Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I cant get the answer.

God : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?

God : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

God : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.

God : Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear . Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that took our breath away!

When i fixed and put back the person - the world was OK

Recently I was reading to a blog posted by my a very good friend http://poochasannyasieng.blogspot.com/2007/04/to-youths-mcym_18.html

I really liked the points mentioned in the blog.

He is right - we spend a lot of time reading/visiting/watching useless sites/stuff - which doesn't bring any worth to any single person.
Its time for the world to change - but for that to happen - we as a single person have to change.

I remember an audio > a young boy was continuously asking his dad to play with him,but his dad was not in mood to play and was reading some magazine.
The father got bugged by this child and thought of giving this kid some thing to play and occupy his time.This father same across the picture of a globe(world - atlas),removed it from the book and tore it into pieces and asked the boy to put the pieces back to get the perfect globe picture.The father thought that it would take the boy really some time to finish this work.But the child came back in less than a minute.The father was surprised to see this.So he asked his son - how did u do this?the answer was simple.

"Dad on the other side of this globe picture was the snap of a person.When i fixed and put back the person - the world was OK."

Which means - once all the people in the world are ok or become ok - the world will be ok.

Wisdom of the Saint......

This is my first blog, and let me tell you - I am not a good writer.

So pls let me know your suggestions to help me improve this blog.

Currently I am reading the book – THE SAINT, THE SURFER & THE CEO – Written by Robin Sharma (www.robinsharma.com)

When I was going through the wisdom shared by the Saint in this book,many of his ideas inspired me,so I thought I would blog it up in my own ideas.

If you do good to people, they in turn will do good to you and always remember the word TRUST in whatever situation.The universe is a very friendly place and everything is organized in a manner to make you reach your best self.The events happen when it should happen because remember - the world is well organized.Each day lot of events happen in your life. There is actually no events/happenings that can be marked as good or bad, its the person's inner self that flags it good and bad.

When I thought about this in my way, this is what I understand in my own words. Its like watching the sunlight.When you watch the sunlight without glasses you see it in its natural bliss but when you do it with sun glasses,you see it differently.Suppose you use black colored glasses or red colored - when viewed by black glasses it looks black - with red it looks red - without glasses you enjoy the pure natural light.Our inner idea acts like a pair of glasses or filter,you have to remove that to look at events.Accept each event as its happening for your good and have TRUST in it.

Further if you do good - whatever the situation may be - the surroundings / nature / situation will turn automatically into good. Again you have to remember the word TRUST.

When I read this I remembered some of the old incidents in my life and really the above idea proves correct.

So when you get up in the morning - think only good things and have positive ideas and attitude - your whole day will turn good and it will be fantastic.Enjoy what you are currently doing - the past is gone and the future is unknown - so why waste time thinking on those - enjoy the present.

Again when I read further in this book - the Saint says - the world is a big school and you keep on learning things.Whatever happens - it happens just for good - and its happening to teach you a lesson that will help you reach your destiny.Until you learn it,it will keep on repeating until you are forced to learn the lesson with greater pain. Once a lesson is learned,the event and everything involved in it,doesn't repeat again.

If I blog it down through the view of a Software Programmer – its like a bug in a software program - once a bug is solved, you learn it and that bug near repeats back in your software because you learned it, but a new bug will be seen in another program - which teaches another lesson, and this goes on and thus you improve on your software skills and you become a better programmer.
